The Elmont Rockers faced a "must-win" situation in the final game of the season to clinch the division title. True to their form, they came through with a decisive 4-0 victory over the Floral Park Comanches. The game was a microcosm of their championship season: Great ball control, awesome defense, excellent communication, relentless offensive pressure, and lightning-quick strikes.
The Rockers finish with 22 points and earn the division title over the Farmingdale Lady Riders by goal differential, 22-19, and also in head-to-head competition, 1-0. The Rockers will move up to Division 3 or 4 in the spring, where they will face very stiff competition from rivals old and new, including top teams from Suffolk County. Under the exemplary coaching of Alfie Blackman, the Rockers will strive to raise their level of play and find continued success in the upcoming seasons.
