| Raised on the ragged, glass strewn fields of Brooklyn, the Elmont Rockers first came together in 1999 as the U-10, AYSO select team from Brooklyn, Region 473. Most of the girls had known each other from AYSO competition and had played together on various Parade Ground teams. Calling themselves the Shooting Bullets, they played a tough, but haphazard, travelling schedule against other select teams. This experience gave the players and parents a taste of top junior soccer competition and they decided to leave AYSO and seek out a league with quality competition. Alfie Blackman - former Trinidad national player, soccer dad, and coach extraordinaire - was hired as coach and trainer, and a home was found representing Elmont, NY in the Long Island Junior Soccer League. |

The Elmont Rockers signed up for their first season in the LIJSL. Seeded in the lowest division, the Rockers ran the field with an undefeated record and took the division championship. They also enjoyed success in the (ongoing) State Cup competition, defeating two higher ranked opponents, to continue on to third round play in Spring '01. |

| The Rockers moved up to Division N4 and continued their success with another undefeated record in LIJSL divisional play. Their superior passing game and stifling defense stymied opponents and delighted their fans. They were unstoppable as they won the Waldbaum's Cup co-championship and advanced to the semi final round of the State Cup against much more highly seeded competition. They took second place in their division of the Massapequa Memorial Day Tournament and made an impression on soccer fans from all over the region. Their team statistics (below) tell the story of their hard work and achievement. |

| Tough competition and player injuries slow the Rockers down in the realigned LIJSL's Division 5W. Now in the U-12 age bracket, the Rockers welcome four new players on their roster and play the traditional eleven per side format in all games. Despite key injuries, their continued development under coach Alfie Blackman leads the Rockers to two more winning seasons. The girls finesse style of play really shines on the larger playing fields and their team work ethic pulls them through some difficult times. |
